FAQ
Questions Tesla owners ask us.
Still unsure? Call (714) 699-0627 or book a diagnosis and we’ll sort it out on the lift.
General
Does using an independent Tesla shop void my warranty?
No. Under the federal Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, a manufacturer can’t void your vehicle warranty just because an independent shop did the work. Tesla can only deny a specific warranty claim if it proves our work caused that failure. We use OEM or OEM-equivalent parts and document every repair.
Which Tesla models do you service?
Model S, Model 3, Model X and Model Y — every year, including early Model S and X that are out of warranty.
Do you offer mobile service?
No. All work is done at our shop at 8418 Katella Ave in Stanton, where the car can go on a lift and we have the right equipment.
How do I book?
Use the “Book a diagnosis” button anywhere on this site — it opens our online scheduler. Pick the service, pick a time, and you’ll get a confirmation. Or call (714) 699-0627.
What are your hours?
Monday to Friday 9:00–5:30, Saturday 9:00–2:00, Sunday by appointment only.
Where are your customers from?
Mostly Stanton, Garden Grove, Anaheim, Buena Park, Cypress, Westminster and Fullerton, but owners drive in from all over Orange County and Los Angeles.
Do you offer financing?
Yes. You can apply online in a few minutes through our financing partner — see the Financing link in the footer.
Do you give a quote before doing the work?
Always. We diagnose first, send you photos of what we found, and quote the repair. Nothing gets done without your approval.
Is my repair warrantied?
Yes. Warranty terms are printed on your invoice and vary by part and job — ask the shop manager when you approve the quote.
Suspension & steering
Why does my Model 3 or Model Y squeak when I turn?
On Model 3 and Model Y the most common cause is worn upper control arm ball joints. We confirm it on the lift before quoting anything.
Do you work on Model S and Model X air suspension?
Yes. We diagnose leaks, compressor faults, height sensors and leveling errors on Model S and Model X air suspension, and calibrate the system after repair.
How long does a suspension repair take?
Most control arm, strut and link jobs are done the same day. We tell you the time estimate when you approve the quote.
Do I need an alignment after suspension work?
Usually yes. Replacing control arms, tie rods or struts changes the geometry, so we finish with a 4-wheel alignment.
A/C & heat pump
Why is my Tesla A/C blowing warm air?
The usual causes are a refrigerant leak, a failed compressor, or on Model 3 and Y a fault in the heat pump / super manifold. We pressure-test and read the fault codes before quoting.
Can you fix the heat pump on a Model 3 or Model Y?
Yes. We diagnose and repair the heat pump system including the super manifold and octovalve on Model 3 and Model Y.
How long does a Tesla A/C compressor replacement take?
Most compressor and condenser jobs are completed the same day. We confirm the time when you approve the quote.
Do you just recharge the system?
Not blindly. A Tesla A/C that needs a recharge has a leak. We find and fix the leak first, then evacuate and recharge to spec.
Battery & high voltage
Do I need a whole new battery pack?
Often no. Many battery alerts come from one or two weak modules or a BMS fault, which can be repaired for a fraction of a full pack.
Which models do you work on?
Model S, Model 3, Model X and Model Y, including older out-of-warranty Model S and X.
How long does battery diagnosis take?
We usually have a diagnosis within one to two business days of drop-off.
Drive unit & motor
Does a Tesla drive unit need fluid changes?
Tesla doesn’t publish an interval, but the gear oil ages like any transmission fluid. A fluid exchange is cheap insurance on higher-mileage cars.
Can you replace a Tesla drive unit?
Yes. We replace front and rear drive units on Model S, 3, X and Y.
Diagnostics & electrical
Can an independent shop read Tesla fault codes?
Yes. We use Tesla-compatible diagnostic tools to read the full fault log and live data on every model.
What does a diagnosis include?
A read of the fault log, live-data and hands-on testing of the affected system, and a written repair recommendation with a quote.
Brakes, tires & alignment
How often should Tesla brakes be serviced?
Because regen does most of the stopping, pads last a long time but calipers can seize from lack of use. A clean-and-lube every year or two keeps them free.
Do you do alignments on Teslas?
Yes, 4-wheel alignment on every model, including after suspension repairs.
Maintenance & inspections
What is included in a Tesla pre-purchase inspection?
Battery health, charging test, software and alerts, brakes, suspension, tires, body and a written report you can use to negotiate.
How often does a Tesla need service?
Tesla recommends cabin filter every 2 years, brake fluid check every 2 years, and A/C desiccant service on a longer interval. We check all of it at an annual visit.
What is a coolant delete?
On Model S and X with the large rear drive unit, the coolant passages are a known leak point into the motor. The coolant delete removes that path so the drive unit isn’t damaged by a leak.
Body, lighting & upgrades
Do you work with insurance companies?
Yes. We provide a written estimate with photos that you can submit to any insurer.
Can you replace Tesla headlights and tail lights?
Yes, including the programming Tesla’s lighting modules need, which is why many general shops can’t do it.
